Welcome to Macintosh
On March of 2015, Mark Bramhill launches a podcast about Apple called Welcome to Macintosh. He describes it as "a podcast about Apple and the community around it. Each episode brings you stories about technology, culture, and design. And while the show is about technology, at its core, it's a show about people: the individuals in and around the world's largest corporation".
So far it doesn't look out of the ordinary, one more podcast about Apple, and there are plenty out there including ours. Of course, there has to be something more, or I wouldn't be writing about it. This podcast is unique with very high production values, compelling stories and an excellent narration by the author. It feels more like an audio documentary than a podcast, a journey where every recorded minute is there to tell the story and edited to perfection.
The show lasted two seasons comprising seven full episodes and eight extra shorter episodes. Recently Mark launched a Kickstarter campaign to finance a third and very ambitious season. The money would be used to travel for interviews, hiring editing assistance, music licensing, acquiring better sound equipment; and pay for the hosting and distribution.
My friend Diogo was one of the backers and fortunately for all of us the fundraising campaign achieved $17000, that allowed for ten new episodes, now being released on a regular schedule. Luckily, despite not getting some of the baker's perks, everyone can enjoy the third series for free, so I will stop wasting your time and urge you to listen to the first episode right now.
